Michele Pazzini, drummer, composer and teacher

Born in the Republic of San Marino in 1991, Michele Pazzini started to play drums and piano at the age of seven. In May 2020 he graduated for the master jazz drums at the Royal Conservatory of Den Haag as a student of Eric Ineke, Felix Schlarmann and Stefan Kruger. In May 2018 he graduated for the bachelor jazz drums always at the Royal Conservatory of Den Haag. Previously Michele studied at the G.B Martini’s Conservatory of Bologna where he graduated for the Master Jazz Drums as a student of: Tomaso Lama, Giampaolo Ascolese and Stefano Paolini. Besides that he followed private lessons from Walter Calloni.

Michele is currently living in Leeuwarden – The Netherlands from 2024. Besides performing as a drummer in different projects and venues and working at his original projects, Michele is teaching music at CSG Bogerman.

Besides drumming, he has always had a strong passion for composing and in 2018 he formed his own quartet with the aim of performing his compositions. The quartet consists of talented musicians who also study or have studied at the Royal Conservatory and Michele’s music is considered as modern jazz.

During his studies he also developed a deep fascination with music composed by jazz drummers and he started the project ‘Stick to Sticks’ with the goal of performing music exclusively composed by drummers. This project has now been already active for two years, playing in different venues and festivals, and the first record, Something Different, has just been released in November 2024.

Michele is considered a versatile drummer open to multiple styles in which musicality and creativity are for him fundamental elements. Jazz remains his specialty but during his career he has collaborated with various artists and projects such as Michele Pazzini Quartet, Michele Pazzini Stick to Stick project, Bill Smith C.C.C.B combo, Hyunwoo Lee, Paolo Ravaglia, Elias Lapia Quartet, Francesco Biadene, Paul Mad Gang en many others. Thanks to these experiences Michele has refined his style becoming the drummer he is today.
